GET GROUNDED
The season of sparkle, hot cocoa, and winter bliss is upon us. In just a few days, I’ll be heading home for a snow-white holiday soirée. I’m looking forward to bundling up by the crackling fire and indulging in my favorite winter rituals—The Holiday, decorating the tree, skiing, and homemade matcha. As we step into a slower season, may this curated guide inspire and uplift you and loved ones near and far.
I love to give things that I know will be used often. I think this is a thoughtful way to reflect how well you know and cherish a person. Not all presents come wrapped. Treat yourself or a loved one to a soothing scalp massage to restore and reset this holiday, or bring the spa experience home with Rahua, a rainforest-grown line of organic hair and skincare products. The Voluminous Essential Hair Care Set is a dream for fine hair—gentle, effective, and infused with plant-powered ingredients like ungurahua oil and green tea leaf extract to nourish and protect. For head-to-toe glow, I love Rahua’s Enchanted Island Body Glow Serum. This golden oil-serum hybrid is infused with soothing achiote extract, antioxidant-rich guayusa, and vitamin-packed morete oil, which deeply hydrates and repairs for gleamy, petal-soft skin.
For an added layer of indulgence, invest in a silk pillowcase. Not only does it support hair and skin health by reducing friction, but its soft, cool texture feels like pure luxury. Mine has lasted for six years, and if you have a pet, they might just claim it too! Scrunchies make perfect stocking stuffers, and for lustrous locks in the cold, the cashmere beanie from Lisa Yang keeps me warm year after year. And to the person who has everything, a scented candle brings peace to any space. I love the Holiday Candle from Alo with woodsy pine. It smells like a winter walk through the snowed woods — calming yet invigorating, perfect for creating a chic and festive space that transcends the season. This makes a grounding gift, and leaves the person receiving it thinking of you—no matter where they burn it.
WINTER WELLNESS
As a nutritionist, I’m ironically often asked about the supplements I take. While my goal is always to prioritize nutrition through a balanced diet, I’ve found Holi (Mane) from Agent Nateur to be a lovely addition. Made with collagen and pearl powder, it supports healthy hair, nails, and skin. It’s perfect for on-the-go days and blends seamlessly into any beverage (perfect in hot chocolate) for an extra dose of beauty-boosting nutrition. The secret? Consistency. No supplement can replace the basics of wellness. They’re here to support, not to solve.
This season I’m embracing some of the Scandinavian superfoods, like sea buckthorn, nature’s golden gem packed with omega-7 fatty acids, vitamin C, and antioxidants to support skin hydration and elasticity. Lingonberries, with their tart burst of vitamin C and flavonoids, are another favorite, helping to brighten the complexion and combat oxidative stress. Elderberries, rich in antioxidants and antiviral properties, are a winter staple for supporting immunity and promoting overall vitality. For a grounding twist, I love incorporating chaga mushroom—a calming adaptogen harvested from birch trees, rich in beta-glucans and immune-supporting compounds. Pair it with cocoa or tea for a warm source of nourishment through these colder days.
And then there’s matcha, my grounding force and daily ritual, packed with antioxidants like EGCG to support skin health, boost metabolism, and provide calm, sustained energy. Its vibrant green color comes from its high chlorophyll content, which helps detoxify the body by binding to heavy metals and chemicals. Matcha leaves are shade-grown before harvest, boosting their amino acid content and making this superfood uniquely powerful. This season, I’m loving an iced white chocolate peppermint matcha latte—refreshing, soothing, and festive all at once. My favorite comes from Nekohama offering the highest grade matcha. Their Ritual Kit makes a beautiful gift, and includes a bowl, whisk and spoon—all you need for the perfect cup of clean, green energy.
GLACIAL GLOW
Winter’s chill calls for a skincare regimen that’s both protective and restorative. My essentials include the RMS SuperSerum Hydrating Mist and Kakadu Beauty Oil for healthy, supple skin, paired with the LESSE Soothing Lip Balm and Bioactive Mask. The oil is an ultra-rich, rapid-absorbing elixir that deeply hydrates and locks in moisture, leaving your skin visibly radiant. For deeper nourishment, the mask is a true multitasker crafted for sensitive complexions, to soothe, clarify, and hydrate with a thoughtful blend of aloe, calendula, and activated charcoal. This is my go-to for restoring balance. And no winter look is complete without soft, nourished lips. The lip balm from LESSE is a luxurious blend of jojoba for deep hydration, calendula to soothe and heal, and mint for a refreshing, frosty finish. I pair it with the Kjær Weis Lip Gloss in my signature shade, cherish—a sheer pink with a hint of shimmer, and a cozy white puffer. On my list this year is also the Goop Hydra-Barrier Gel Gloss in glaze, a lip treatment perfect for a less-is-more look, and the Regeneration Mist—a year-round essential.
This year, RMS Beauty created a seasonal winter set that feels like the ultimate holiday gift—and a nod to my introduction to the world of clean skincare. The set includes the Kakadu Beauty Oil, Lip2Cheek for a frosty flush, and the Luminizer for moonlit cheekbones, all wrapped up in an exclusive black velvet pochette from Dôen. The collaboration is a celebration of the season’s magic, offering carefully-crafted, versatile products that take you from day to night with ease. A timeless gift you’ll reach for long after the holidays.
The Detox Market is my favorite destination for all things beauty and wellness, and includes favorites from Rahua, RMS, Agent Nateur, and Kjær Weis—female-founded, independent brands with the right intentions behind them. Whenever I am home, I love Rudolph Care—organic Scandinavian skincare at its best. As I prepare for my winter escape, and layering up for a change, I hope this guide brings you joy, connection and tenderness whether you’re stranded or snowed in.
