LOVE
As a new year dawns, a soothing transition from the depths of winter to help you heal, hydrate, and illuminate.
I am back from the winter, returning to transformative rituals, and the process of becoming a mat pilates instructor, allowing me to teach and share my passion from anywhere in the world. Health and wellness is a part of my essence, and is how I feel grounded in moments of instability. Over the years, I have poured my wisdom and love for the nature and its healing power to the people around me, and I am excited to combine nutrition, skin and natural beauty with my ballet-inspired pilates practice.
FROST is a small drop of water that represents the beauty and vitality of nature. I am excited to bring this philosophy with me as I am taking FROST in a new direction. Born in LA, cultivated in Hawaii, inspired by the home of snow, frost and winter magic. After years on this island I have realized it is time for a change. I am a winter girl at heart, longing for frosty mornings and snow-covered pine. Skiing in spring weather, midsummer spent with my forever valentines and strawberry-picking in my grandparents garden. The beauty and calm of crisp fall with my maltipoo playing in the leaves. The peace and quiet, the taste of the purest produce, hiking in summer sunshine—embraced by my favorite traditions and favorite people always.
I love how each season has something to teach us, that there is a time for everything. The dignified decay of winter, a time for healing and rest, the hope and awakening of spring, the abundance and growth in summer, and then fall, the harvest, a shedding of layers, a time for reflection and care. This time of year I reach for foods that are extra rich in antioxidants. As I am currently not in the snow, it is naturally reflective of the warm environment. I love a homemade açaí bowl topped with nut butter, banana and fresh berries—it is free of the additional sugar, and has the authentic deep color it should have. This is such a treat, and açaí is also higher in antioxidants than most berries. Also on my list is elderberry and raw cacao—perfect for my winter people.
Winter is slowly transitioning into spring, and our skin is reflective of this change, asking for soothing active botanicals to hydrate, nourish, and rejuvenate. My favorite is the RMS Kakadu Oil for glowing winter skin, its scent reminding me of holidays of the past, and the LESSE Essential Moisturizer with snow mushroom, known to be 400x more hydrating than hyaluronic acid. And never skip on sunscreen. Sun protection is the number one way to prevent hyperpigmentation and collagen breakdown. UVA rays remain consistent in strength throughout the year, penetrating clouds and glass, so apply your zinc sunscreen every day. Your skin will thank you.
Cultivating intentional rituals and practices go beyond skincare, diet, and exercise—it is also about what we let into our space, and the energy we surround ourselves with. I’m leaning into what feels uplifting and restorative, what aligns with the life I am creating, taking me into the warmer days ahead.
